Made famous from appearing in Game of Thrones, the Dark Hedges are one of the most photographed sites in Northern Ireland. However, they are also steeped in history, standing proudly for over 200 years.

On this journey through the Dark Hedges, our storyguides will bring you back to where it all begin, from the 1800s to the Game of Thrones Door, carved from a fallen tree in 2016, in the Hedges Hotel.

Big fans of The Game of Thrones.

“Me and my partner visited here a few days ago. We are big fans of Game of Thrones so was looking forward to visiting them. We weren’t originally aware of the visitor centre or the free car parking until we turned up and I’m so happy we went in. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, their knowledge of the trees and the surrounding area was impeccable! We got our own tour of the trees and the grounds surrounding the neighbouring hotel. The experience itself was amazing and did make us want to stay longer as a result. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is visiting the trees.”
